Last weekend, on a whim, we jumped in the car and drove to Niagara Falls to go see the Butterfly Conservatory at the Botanical Gardens. The last time we went, it had closed for the day and we had an extremely sad 5 year old on our hands. This time, not only did we see a million, bazillion butterflies, but also some really beautiful plant life. It really is a fantastic place to find colour and texture.
The best part about the butterfly conservatory is that it's open year-round. So, in the dead of winter, you can go and step into the tropics for a little while. The first time we ever went was in February. Not only was it like a tropical oasis, but it was also much, much less busy than on a Saturday in August. Love it.
